Medal for the Universal Exposition in Paris, July 4 1900 by Brenner. Obverse has 2 women standing before the National Pavillion with wording below "Presented by the Commissioner General of the United States": Reverse is the Lafayette monument in Paris. The Paris World's Fair ran in 1900 from April to November. One of the interesting exhibits was by the Lumière brothers who did the first public presentation of motion pictures in 1895. This is an unlisted variety for this medal as Smedley only listed bronze while this one is silver, inscribed on the edge - Argent. The engraving and die work on this medal is exquisite. Smedlay #33A, Obtained March 2020 Stacks Bowers Baltimore Auction Lot 117
