One of Victor D. Brenner’s best known works, done to commemorate Prince Henry of Prussia’s visit to America in 1902. Henry was coming to get a yacht for his brother, Kaiser Wilhelm II which was christened Meteor III by Alice Roosevelt. Brenner assumed all costs for this medal (Except the 4 gold ones) which was the 14th official issue from the American Numismatic Society and he let them sell as many silver as they could for profit. The Obverse is a portrait of Henry and engraved around the side " Issued By The American Numismatic and Archeological Society February 2901 New York City. Brenner signed in the right field. The reverse is the God Mercury riding on a cloud surrounded by American and German flags. Engraved around the side is To Commemorate The Visit Of His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Prussia. This is one of 301 issued in silver and has the original toned silver appearance and ring: if a coin, it would grade mint state.
