Framed. A watercolor painting that depicts two rabbis eating on the floor. Signed on bottom left. Shimshon Holzman (1907-1986) was an Israeli landscape and figurative painter, and known mostly for his watercolor paintings. He was born in Galicia, Spain in 1907. Holzman studied at Histadrut Studio with Yitzchak Frenkel in 1926 and at Grande Chaumiere in Paris in 1929. His works were deeply influenced by Matisse and Dufy.Awards and Prizes: Dizengoff Prize, 1937 Scholarship from Baron George de Manasse,1938 Dizengoff Prize 1959, Haifa Municipality Prize.
