陈师曾（1876-1923），原名衡恪，字师曾，号朽道人、槐堂，江西义宁（今江西省修水县）人，著名美术家、艺术教育家。陈师曾出身书生门第，祖父是湖南巡抚陈宝箴，父亲是著名诗人陈三立。1902 年东渡日本留学，1909年回国，任江西教育司长。从1911 年2 月至1913 年4 月，他受南通张謇之邀，至通州师范学校（今南通师范学校）任教，专授博物课程。1913 年又赴长沙第一师范任课，后至北京任编审员之职。先后兼任北京女子高等师范学校、北京高等师范学校、北京美术专门学校教授。
