此件玉器选材为和田白玉，玉质细腻温润，器身之上有铁红色沁色，十分的醒目。器型较为别致，上下中空，呈筒状，中间束腰有箍状装饰，上下皆呈喇叭口状，其上下有对称条带状摹古夔龙纹装饰。器身正中有兽首状钣，瑞兽阔口、臣字目、桃形立耳，古慕而威严。在诸多古玉著述中，未见到同类器物以供参考，猜测此件玉器应该为一件扦插器，上下扦插用于祭祀依仗等。此器玉质精良，工艺古朴精美，应该为皇家用玉，且以前并无记载属于孤品，极具收藏价值。
