选和阗羊脂白玉作扳指，玉质细腻润泽，精光内蕴。阴刻楷书御制诗《象魏班·春》：“玉律迴瑶琯，三阳应候临。十行宽大诏，四海发生心。宫阙云容丽，郊圻雪泽深。四时为政始，勤勉爱民忱。” 扳指在古代叫韘，为扣弦护指之用。汉代许慎《说文解字》“射决也，所以钩弦，以象骨韦，系着右巨指”。但随着弓箭在战场上的作用越来越小，韘的实用功能变得越来越弱，装饰功能逐渐增强，重视材质及雕刻纹样的制作。此件扳指造型精致小巧，内璧打磨细致，稍带弧度，工艺精湛，其字体刻画流畅自然，精细规整，可赏可玩。
