ATTRIBUTED TO GIUSEPPE KNIGHT: BELLE éPOQUE DIAMOND TIARA, CIRCA 1905 Of highly stylised openwork floral design with central graduating garlands amongst fluttering ribbons, millegrain-set throughout with vari-cut diamonds including old brilliant, oval, cushion and pear, mounted in gold and platinum, diamonds approximately 25.00 carats total, dimensions of centrepiece 7.0 x 5.5cm, cased by G. Knight, Via Bisignano, Napoli, screwdriver supplied 注脚 PROPERTY OF A EUROPEAN NOBLE FAMILYItalian jeweller and goldsmith, Giuseppe Knight (1832-1892), was born in Naples to an English family. He trained with his father, Henry and specialised in jewels in the Archaeological Revival style (an example of his work is in the collection of the British Museum). He was joined in the business by his son, Carlo (1862-1924) and in 1880, Giuseppe Knight & Son was recorded at 11 via Bisignano. In 1883, the firm received the Royal Warrant (Fornitore di Casa Reale) and in 1884, they displayed a diamond and enamel diadem at the Turin exhibition.
