Xu Beihong (1895-1953), Han nationality, formerly known as Xu Shoukang, was born in Qiting Town, Yixing City, Jiangsu Province. Modern Chinese painter and art educator. He once studied in France and studied Western painting. After returning to China, he has been engaged in art education for a long time. After 1949, he served as the dean of the Central Academy of Fine Arts. He is good at characters, animals, flowers and birds, advocating realism, especially in the tradition of Ren Bonian, emphasizing the reform of traditional Chinese painting and integrating Western painting techniques, painting advocates light and modeling, emphasizes the accurate grasp of the anatomical structure and bones of the object, and emphasizes the ideological connotation of the work.
