Fu Baoshi (1904~1965), formerly known as Changsheng and Ruilin, the owner of Baoshizhai. Born in Nanchang, Jiangxi, ancestral home is Xinyu, Jiangxi. Modern painter. He studied in Japan in his early years and taught at Chuo University after returning home. After 1949, he served as the professor of Nanjing Normal University and the dean of Jiangsu Academy of Chinese Painting. He was good at painting landscapes and created a "bouldering dumpling" in his middle age. His brushwork was easy and unrestrained, and he was especially good at making springs, waterfalls, rain and fog. The figure paintings are mostly ladies and seniors, with an ancient image. He is the author of "Research on Ancient Chinese Painting", "Compendium of History of the Changes in Chinese Painting" and so on. On June 5, 2016, the masterpiece "The King in the Cloud and the Great Commander" appeared in the spring auction of Poly. The auction started at 160 million yuan, and the bid quickly passed 200 million yuan, and finally sold for 230 million yuan.
