In 1924 (the thirteenth year of the Republic of China), Pan Tianshou first saw the works of Xiao Longshi and was highly praised, and he was called "the first painter in Jiangbei". In 1935 (the 24th year of the Republic of China), Xiao Longshi and Liu Huimin, Xu Yanda, Fan Ciren, and Liu Guanghui became the Five Friends of Taoyuan. In 1950, Xiao Longshi went to Beijing for the third time and formally followed Qi Baishi as his teacher. The master personally engraved the "Long Shi" seal as a souvenir. In May 1951, he participated in the "Charity Sale Exhibition of Anti-U.S. Aid Korea" held nationwide. Thirty works by Xiao Longshi were selected.
