Zhang Peng (1918-2009), whose name is Xibai, was born in 1918 in Gaomi, Shandong. Former professor of Shandong Institute of Textile Technology, member of Chinese Artists Association. Zhang Peng's art has his family history and traditional skills, as well as the foundation of Western painting. He is good at freehand drawing flowers, birds, grasses, insects, animals, etc., and also writes characters and landscapes. His works are novel in composition, exaggerated in shape, refined in pen and ink, and vivid in form and spirit, forming his own unique style. Zhang Peng is an outstanding Chinese painting artist in this century.
