Life story: The common surname is Li, the young name is Wentao, also known as Guanghou, the word is Shutong, the alias is Xishuang, and the legal name is played. He was born in Pinghu, Zhejiang and was born in Tianjin. In his early years, he studied at Shanghai Nanyang Public School and received a career from Cai Yuanpei. Good at painting, calligraphy, seal cutting, and poetry. He studied in Japan in 1905 and entered the Tokyo School of Fine Arts to study Western painting from Kuroda Kiyoshi. In 1907, he and Zeng Xiaogu founded "Chunliu Club" in Tokyo, starring "La Traviata", and edited "Music Magazine". Returning to China in 1910, he first became the editor of Shanghai's "Pacific Daily" and joined the Nanshe Society initiated by Liu Yazi. He continued to work as a teacher of painting and music in Zhejiang Provincial No. 1 Normal School in Hangzhou. In 1918, he became a monk at Hupao Dinghui Temple in Hangzhou and was ordained at Lingyin Temple in the same year. He often travels to and from Jiaxing, Shanghai, Wenzhou and other places, and writes in retreat. He entered Fujian in 1928 and lived in Nanputuo, Xiamen, Chengtian and Kaiyuan temples in Quanzhou.
