刘梅秀铁禅和尚，(1865—1946年)，法名心镜；俗姓刘，名梅秀。广东番禺人。19岁时由堂兄刘凤巢(刘永福所部军医)引荐，结识黑旗军将领刘永福，投入其部充当文书。光绪十年至十一年(1884—1885年)随军赴越南参加抗法战争。战后因军队改编，刘梅秀回乡，以卖书画维持生计。光绪二十年(1894年)，其妻儿染瘟疫相继病故，精神受到创伤，生活亦陷入困境。为寻寄托，于光绪二十四年(1898年)投奔广州六榕寺第二房友石堂房主源善和尚，剃度出家，法号铁禅。源善去世后，铁禅承接衣钵，继任房主。
