紙本 立軸；款識：時在道光戊子秋九月繡谷鐘寫。鈐印：司馬鐘印（朱）作者簡介：司馬鐘（清）字子英，号秀谷，一号绣谷，又号绣鹄，别号紫金山樵，上元（今南京）人。官直隶河工州判。长写意花卉及鸟兽。落笔豪放，气势犹逸，脱尽描头画尾之习。或作草虫鱼虾一两笔，颇生动。其花鸟俱用粗笔点叶，最有古致。写生家有北派者自绣谷始。亦善画兰。山水不多作。性傲嗜酒落拓，酒酣一夕可了数帧。寻丈巨幅，顷刻而就。中年之笔与张雪鸿、张桂岩在伯仲之间。
