A Chinese blue and white porcelain snuff bottle with a 4-character mark of Daoguang and of the period. It comes with a green glass stopper. The body of the bottle depicts scholars' objects in yellow, green, and red glazes. Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 1 5/8 inches wide, 6.4 cm X 4.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in good condition. Provenance: From a private Northern Virginia collection. The collection was assembled by several members of the family throughout the 20th century, including by English missionaries to China in the 1900s, by a sailor during the 1920s to 1930s, and by the current owner herself from the 1990s to 2000s.
