Measurements: 12.375in x12.625in x 12.625in Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Red dragon & waves motif porcelain jar. Potted with a large cylinder vessel, jar shape, having thick and tall potted body, sturdily potted in slight ovoid belly, heavy on shoulder gently tapered on short neck, toward opening mouth prominent, with slight flaring opening lip, and raised on flat wide round foot base. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in clean white under glazed base color which contrast against the red fine color, depicted of fish swim on the waves and water plants, enclosed with scrolling tendril on the collar. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned. Mark on base, a six under glazed blue script Kaishu characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, Made In The Years Wanli Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
