Measurements: Height: 11 5/8" Width: 5 1/2" Qing Dynasty Chinese gilt bronze Bodhisattva Buddha figure of standing Vaishravana, the Guardian King of the North. Cast in formal position with royal in visage, with large bulging eyes, slightly curling moustache and beard, the hair is piled on the crown of the head. The head is adorned with a crown of jewels. Wearing the royal warrior completely covered in layers of garments he is further attired in white pants and decorative boots. With the legs straight standing slightly gazed west. Well protecting the Buddhas Teachings with heroic strength of arms; homage to the Kings of the Four Directions, North, South, East and West. Extensive gilding remaining.
