A Chinese Export porcelain blue and white tea caddy, 18th century, height 12cm, width 8cm, depth 3.5cm and a Chinese Imari porcelain tea caddy, 18th century, with white metal cover, height 10.5cm, width 10cm, depth 5.5cm. Provenance: Michael Trethewey. A Gentleman of Taste. We are delighted to be selling in this sale and over forthcoming sales, items from the estate of the collector Michael Trethewey. Michael had an unerring eye for quality. He was a frequent visitor to these auction rooms, an elegantly dressed, unassuming man who bought well and had a singular passion for old school antiques. We are honoured to be handling his estate and as well as the items in this Asian sale we will be selling further pieces from his extensive collection in our September 2nd Antique Sale and across our range of upcoming specialist sales. Condition report: Restoration to top of ble and white tea caddy. Two chips to the top of the Chinese Imari caddy and three chips to base rim.
