A GUAN-TYPE 'LONGQUAN' CELADON 'CONG' VASEH:21.1cm,W:7.9cm,Diam.of mouth:5.9cmModelled after an archaic jade cong, each long edge of the square-sectioned body with eight raised horizontal bands within a raised rectangular frame, all supported on a short foot and surmounted by a gently tapered neck, covered all over in a very fine celadon-jade green glaze suffused with an attractive irregular russet crackle, the glaze falling short of the foot to reveal the body burnt brown in the firing.This cong is unusual in its attractive overall crackle which forms a distinct pattern on the light green glaze.
