A Georgian garnet rivière necklace, c.1800, with a series of oval, flat cut foiled garnets, all rub set in dome back cut down collets. All joined by jump rings to a garnet set box clasp. Tested as approximately 9ct gold. 5.00 to 5.70mm wide, 365mm long, 12.41g Condition report: A series of gold solder repairs to the back of the collets. Some wear to the setting edges of the garnets. Scratches and marks consistent with age. Table and crown facet edge wear. Occasional chips to the garnets. Clasp in working order.
