铭文：平生心事许谁知，不是梅花不赋诗。莫向西湖踏残雪，东风多在向阳枝。士慎。近人（朱）。 紫檀笔筒整挖，筒底渐收，筒壁厚实。内壁打磨光润，外壁刻梅花铁干虬枝，凌寒怒放。梅枝旁暗刻草书并钤刻，诗书画印相结合，充满人文意趣，应为名家手笔。铭者简介：汪士慎（1686～1759），字近人，号巢林。溪东外史等，安徽休宁人，寓居扬州。清代著名书画家，“扬州八怪”之一。
