Notes: li kuchan (January 11, 1899 -- June 11, 1983), formerly known as ying jie, renamed ying, styled chao SAN, li gong, a native of gaotang, Shandong province, was a modern calligrapher and art educator. Born poor, from a young age by the traditional culture of his hometown, on the road to art. In 1923, he was taught by qi baishi. He was a professor of Hangzhou art school, a professor of central academy of fine arts, a director of Chinese artists association, and a member of the academy of Chinese painting. He is good at painting flowers, birds and eagles. In his later years, he often made a large screen, which represented his works: "sheng he", "group eagle", "pine eagle", "orchid bamboo", "clear snow" and "waterfowl". Li kuchan's collection of paintings was published in 1978. Painting achievements: li kuchan inherited the tradition of Chinese painting, drawing on the techniques of shi tao, bashan mountain people, yangzhou painting school, wu changshuo, qi baishi, etc. There are unrestrained, magnificent, vivid style, set up a new style of freehand brushwork flower-and-bird painting. Li kuchan created many artistic images with his own aesthetic views and techniques of expression. At will contains simple and humble gas, natural implicit contains masculine gas. The bigger the picture of li kuchan, the more free he is.
