Fifteenth century Lao Buddha in the a delightful Lanna/Laos folk style. Loss of original base and finial plus one ear mostly replaced. Large at 15 inches tall, 17 inches on custom base (with original finial and base he would have approached 2 feet tall). Very unique mouth. Much of the patina is exquisite- Thai Buddha collectors call this special type of patina found in some quality Northern Thai pieces "jade green" patina. I comes from the specific alloy used-the green leeches out of the metal over several hundred years and is impossible to fake.
