Highly uncommon Pre-Khmer Cambodian giant(?) or monkey (?) with serene countenance and a very gentle, sweet face (looks like he has betel-nut stuffed into one of his cheeks!) kneeling in devotion. I've never seen something of this type from such an early period. Unsure how to date exactly, but the solid cast simplicity, along with other Pre-Khmer bronze sculptures I have seen leads me to believe that this could be as early as 7/8thcentury, and no later than 10/11thC. Deep concentration and serenity in his face and posture. 3 inches tall, height on custom stand is 3.75 inches. Special!
