A fascinating item- antique bronze monk, probably from Yunnan or somewhere else where the confluence of different Asian styles meet. He has Nepali influence, some SE Asian, and the keyhole design in the base. Huge expressive hands, and one knee and hip bent slightly in Indian style. Came from an old US collection- reportedly in the US for most of the last 100 years, which may account for the relative lack of wear. Stands 9.25" tall
