A huge Burmese silver casket, unmarked, probably late 19th/early 20th century Finely decorated in very high relief, the cover with seven warriors in traditional dress, the central figure standing on a stool, holding a bow, the sides with similar groups of figures, perhaps telling a story, featuring dancing girls, a royal couple, a woman reclining on a bed with attendants and an elephant, pierced bands of acanthus leaves and pierced foliate panels, 36.5cm long, 28cm wide, 24cm high, 117oz. (3627 gm).
