A Large and Fine Pair of Royal Vienna Jeweled Enamel Cobalt Ground Porcelain Covered Vases Signed H. Stadler, late 19th century The bodies painted with central frieze of classical figures on a gilt ground with raised C-scrolls, each base painted with two medallions showing Europa and two maidens and a warrior amongst others, blue overglaze beehive mark to underside. (H: 38 1/2 in.) Provenance Collection of Robert & Barbara Safford, Vaux Hill, Audubon, Pennsylvania. Freeman’s, Philadelphia, September 25, 2013, lot 152. Acquired directly from the above sale. Private Collection, Long Island, New York. Condition report: Condition generally very good. Some minor horizontal scratches to decoration at widest part of body, very occasional light scratches and other wear to surface, slight wear to gilding including light scratches and some minor losses to the dotted decoration in giltwork. The urns assemble in two pieces, plus the covers.
