A Fine Sèvres Style Porcelain-Inset Gilt-Bronze Mounted Onyx Side Table Early 20th century The circular top inset with a large circular plaque painted to show an 18th century lady at a desk reading music, signed 'P. Juéry' within gilt bronze border, surrounded by nine smaller oval portraits of noble ladies, each titled beneath the image, the cylindrical column mounted within three large acanthus scrolls united by floral swags raised on tripartite base with inset guilloche frieze, on castors. (H: 32 1/2, D: 21 in.) Provenance Collection of Robert & Barbara Safford, Vaux Hill, Audubon, Pennsylvania. Freeman’s, Philadelphia, September 25, 2013, lot 63. Acquired directly from the above sale. Private Collection, Long Island, New York. Condition report: Porcelain plaques with light to moderate crazing; one older visible crack through the onyx tabletop and moderate edge wear and chipping to the onyx base. Gilt metal decoration at top of pedestal with one minor separation.
