Modern. Four snuff bottles with carved Peking glass in various themes and forms. Tallest bottle depicts a mounted hunter and his dog hunting rabbits with four character seal with two other seals on the opposite side. The smallest bottle depicts three people in a boat and the reverse image is of a man with a staff under flowering trees. Dimensions are: Tallest: 3 3/4 inches tall X 1 3/4 inches wide; 9.52 cm tall X 4.44 cm wide. Smallest: 2 1/4 inches tall X 1 3/4 inches wide; 5.71 cm tall X 4.44 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Two bottles missing snuff spoon and one glass top has become separated from spoon and seal. Provenance: From a private Northern Virginia collection. The collection was assembled by several members of the family throughout the 20th century, including by English missionaries to China in the 1900s, by a sailor during the 1920s to 1930s, and by the current owner herself from the 1990s to 2000s.
