刘东父（1902-1980）名恒壁字东父,号乐无居士、旷翁等。祖籍四川双流,清光绪28年冬月15日出生于成都的一个书香世家。受家庭熏陶,从小喜爱诗文书画,并受到良好教育,为后来这方面的发展奠定了基础。青年时入刘湘幕府,曾任《济川公报》总编辑、《川康通讯》社社长、《国难三日刊》社社长、川康绥靖公署秘书处处长、民事处处长等。1947年退职回家,以鬻字为生。1954年受聘为四川省文史研究馆馆员,1955年加入民革,长期从事文史资料的收集整理工作和诗书画创作。生前系四川省政协委员、省政协文史资料委员会委员。刘东父先生精于书法,是我国著名书法家。出版《刘东父书洛神赋》、《旷翁诗钞》、《旷翁书画》等。
