A TIBETAN THANGKA OF YAMANTAKA VAJRABHAIRAVA AND CONSORT. Tibet, 18th / 19th Century. The blue-bodied Yamantaka with thirty-four arms, sixteen legs and nine heads stands to the centre in a yab-yum pose with his consort Vajravetali signifying the union of method and wisdom, their naked bodies symbolise lack of delusions, the ring of flames around them- purity, they both stand upon bodies of men, animals and devas, trampling the vices of the world, they are surrounded by offerings and supporting deities, the main among them bodhisattva Manjusri, whose wrathful tantric form Yamantaka represents, ink and colour on canvas, 88 x 61cm. 西藏約十八或十九世紀 繪大威德金剛唐卡
