Richard Dölker (1896-1955), German batik and ceramic artist, student of Otto Pankok. Studied at the Stuttgart School of Arts and Crafts, after World War I continued his studies at the School of Arts and Crafts with Prof. Schneidler. 1920-24 Travels through Italy to Sicily. From 1925 settled in Vietri sul Mare as a ceramist. Inspired by a batik exhibition in the Vatican from 1928 first attempts in this technique. From 1930 almost exclusively active as a batik artist. Here one of the rare watercolors ''blue demons'' from 1945, watercolor over pencil and charcoal on paper, bottom right titled and dated 16.VI.45, verso other drawing: stilt walkers at Mont St. Michel, inscribed and signed on the backing board, 21 x 30 cm, framed behind glass 33 x 43 cm
