The nude and young Dionysus is the Greek god of the grape harvest, wine-making, and wine, of ritual madness and ecstasy in Greek mythology. Modeled in a Hellenistic approach, he walks from a vineyard, holding the bundles of grapes up that will be used to make a divine wine. This bronze sculpture was captured using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation and mounted upon a marble base.
