A Chinese blue and white charger dating from the 16th century. The interior features a roundel of fruit and flowers framed by a band around the rim of the babao and lotuses. The exterior features flowering branches. Dimensions are: 3 inches tall X 17 1/4 inches wide, 7.6 cm X 43.8 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is significant iron pitting and glaze popping on the interior. Firing cracks and glaze skips throughout. There are several areas of repair. There are small drill marks on the exterior and bottom. Provenance: From a private New York City collection. The bottom of the vase has a sticker from 69A Intandane in Liverpool, United Kingdom.
