A Chinese Jian kiln bowl dating from the Song dynasty. The interior and exterior have a hare's fur pattern, and the bowl has a metal rim. Dimensions are: 3 inches tall X 5 inches wide, 7.6 cm X 12.7 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in good condition. Provenance: From a private Maryland collection. Numerous examples of similar Jian bowls from the Song dynasty can be found in museums such as the Palace Museum in Beijing, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, e.g. accession number 91.1.241, and the Freer Gallery of Art, e.g. accession number F1913.39.
