A Chinese blue and white export charger dating from the 17th or 18th century. The interior of the lobed plate features a Kraak ware design with flowers surrounding a central lotus motif. The exterior has fruit motifs, and the bottom has a leaf motif. Dimensions are: 2 1/2 inches tall X 15 inches wide, 6.4 cm X 38.1 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There are three areas of repair to the rim as well as chipping. Abrasions throughout. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area.
