A Chinese blue and white export charger dating from the 17th or 18th century. The interior features a landscape scene with a pair of pheasants. The scene is surrounded by four ruyi with peaches against a tracery ground with peacocks. The exterior has two motifs. Dimensions are: 2 inches tall X 17 inches wide, 5.1 cm X 43.2 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is an area of chipping and repair to the foot. There are chips to the rim and abrasions throughout. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
