A Chinese sancai teapot in the shape of a Shou character dating from the Republic period. The sides have scenes featuring the other Sanxing, Lu and Fu. There is flower tracery throughout. Dimensions are: 7 1/2 inches tall X 8 inches wide, 19.1 cm X 20.3 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in overall good condition with a firing crack to the spout. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
