A Chinese famille rose floor vase dating from the 19th century. The vase features four large panels with scenes of children playing under adult supervision. There are smaller panels with landscapes and motifs between the larger scenes. All panels are set against a peach and flower ground. The vase has handles in the form of guardian lions with cubs. Dimensions are: 24 1/4 inches tall X 9 inches wide, 61.6 cm X 22.9 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is an area of repair to the rim and neck. There is a large star crack and repair to the foot. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area.
