A Chinese blue and white floor vase dating from the 19th century. It features double happiness characters on the body between quatrefoil landscape scenes, one of which has a guardian lion and cub. The neck has panels depicting a lotus pond with a crane and a scene with a guardian lion. There are two handles of beasts holding lingzhi. A band of scholar's items decorates the shoulder. Dimensions are: 24 1/2 inches tall X 9 inches wide, 62.2 cm X 22.9 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in overall good condition with a firing crack to the base. Provenance: From the estate of a surgeon in the Washington, D.C. area. The items were acquired from various auction houses including Christie's and Sotheby's prior to the 1990s.
