The first drawings of Paul Ordner appear in L'Illustration in 1923 (advertisement for engine oil Spidoleïne). In 1931, Paul Ordner will start working for the American promoter Jeff Dickson who manages the Vélodrome d'Hiver, called "Vel d'Hiv' ". He illustrates the posters and the programs. In the space of just three years (1931 – 1933), he became the official designer of more than twenty newspapers of general circulation, which is exceptional in the illustration world.
