In 1973 his family moved to live in Harkov. In 1977, Nikolay Duboviy started studying art, and in 1994 he joined the national artist union. Nikolay Duboviy concentrates on still life and landscape, which he paints dramatically with thick expressive brushwork and brilliant colors, using a special technique which he has developed by himself.
