Andrew Johnson Autograph Endorsement Signed with Document Signed. Includes: Andrew Johnson Autograph Endorsement Signed. On the back of a one-page letter from Captain Vincent Meyers, 8" x 10", no place; no date. The original letter requests thirty days of leave so that Meyers may visit East Tennessee "for the purpose of making a race for a seat in the senatorial branch of the next Legislation." Johnson responds on the verso of the document in full: "Approved / Andrew Johnson / Mil Gov & BG." Andrew Johnson Document Signed as Governor. One page, 7.75" x 10", Nashville, Tennessee; June 24, 1856. A document appointing "... A. R. Reed of the county of Madison Justice of the Peace in and for said county..." Paper has been blind stamped. Signed as Governor, "Andrew Johnson." Countersigned by F. N. W. Burton as Secretary of State. Condition: Both toned with minor soiling and some ink smudging.
