Robert Morris Signed Indenture. Six pages, 8" x 13", Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; March 6, 1804. An indenture between Turbult Francis and Nimrod Pennington originally written March 7, 1776. Robert Morris testifies to the authenticity of Turbult Francis's signature on the fourth page which is dated 1804. It reads in part: "Robert Morris of the City of Philadelphia being duly sworn saith that he is well acquainted with the Handwriting of Turbilt Frances lately of the said City deceased having frequently received Letters from the said Turbult." Signed, "Robt Morris." Condition: Original binding string still present. Integral fold has been professionally repaired and reinforced with archival tape. Amateur tape repair to verso of three pages. Pages three and four have lost a 5" x 7" section, however there is no loss to text. Some edgewear with chipping and several small, closed tears. Pencil notation to recto.
