John Jay Document Signed as Governor. One page, 7.75" x 6.25", [New York]; February 25, 1799. A document recommending the passage of two bills. It reads in full: "Resolved, that it does not appear improper to the Council that the bill entitled, ‘An Act to amend an Act entitled An Act to provide against Infections and Pestilential Disease.' and the bill entitled, ‘An Act to amend the Laws respecting the Loan Officers and supervisions of the Several Counties of this State' should respectively become Laws of this State." Signed as Governor of New York. "John Jay." Document is affixed to a larger paper measuring 8.25" x 10". Condition: .5" open tear to bottom left corner. Mounting paper has heavy edgewear with some loss to left margin. Lightly toned from age with moderate toning along top margin and upper righthand margin.
