Persian inscription and date, on the backing cardboard label and poem in Persian, matted and framed under glass, uninspected out of frame. - Iranian painter, draughtsman and illustrator. He studied politics and law in Tehran until 1962 but worked as illustrator afterwards. Since 1972 he also worked for French magazines and shortly after for the New York Times. Because of political pressure he had to leave Iran in 1977 and settled in New York. Ardeshir Mohasses (Lahijan 1938 - New York 2008). Paar. Bis 1962 studierte er in Teheran Politik und Jura, war anschließend aber als Illustrator für Magazine tätig. Ab 1972 arbeitete er auch als satirischer Zeichner für ein Pariser Magazin, kurz darauf für die New York Times. Aufgrund politischen Drucks mußte er den Iran 1977 verlassen und lebte seitdem in New York.
