款识：“金箓大醮坛用”六字双行楷书款 明朝的第十一代皇帝明世宗喜用坛形茶盏，时称“坛盏”。明世宗的坛盏上特别刻有“金箓大醮坛用”的字样。“醮坛”是古代道士设坛祈祷的场所。因明世宗后期迷信道教，日事“斋醮饵丹药”。他在“醮坛”中摆满茶汤、果酒，经常独自坐醮坛，手捧坛盏，一面小饮一边向神祈求长生不老。“金箓”是道家斋醮的一种，除了超度外，还包含延寿受生的内容。 比较实在的历史记载是《长物志》：“世庙有坛盏，中有茶汤果酒，后有‘金箓大醮坛用’等字样，亦佳。”
