Richard Prince,New York,b. 1949 Includes a charcoal drawing depicting the back of a nude woman glancing over her shoulder, a red pastel drawing of a nude woman facing away from the viewer with her hair in a braided bun, and an ink study of an androgynous subject facing away from the viewer. Prince attended Nasson College in Springvale, Maine before moving to Braintree, Massachusetts and later Provincetown, ultimately ending up in New York where he had his first solo exhibition. In 2005, being known as a critic of American consumerism, Prince held an exhibition titled "The Check Paintings", which incorporated canceled checks from friends and celebrities coinciding with that years Oscar Awards. In 2007, the Guggenheim held a comprehensive retrospective of Prince's work, continuing on to the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
