Important Louis XV Table having shaped top opening to felt interior with inlaid top and frieze on cabriole legs, all with brass mounts, height 30 1/2 inches, width 35 inches, closed depth 17 inches. Several accounts record Dr. Valentine Mott travelling through Europe during the 1830's and 1840's to respite from his daily responsibilities. He was received with distinction throughout Europe and Asia including personally by King Louis Philippe I and the French Royal Family.
