款识：湄生夏慎大。 钤印：慎大长寿（白） 夏眉生（朱） 识文：更欲题诗满青竹，安得健步移远梅 。作者简介：夏慎大（1856～1925），字湄生，安徽省休宁县城北街人，生于书香世家。曾任文牍，后历任浑源、临晋（即今临猗）、宁武、榆次等知县及榆州同知，凡十余年，为官清廉。后任江防军总部参谋文牍、皖北镇守使署副官长等职。民国元年后，被推选为临时县知事，县议会议长、财政局长、商会会长、农会会长等职。其诗词书画均有造诣，著有《菊隐诗存》、《夏氏乔梓合稿》和《自编年谱》等。
